Education can and does transform lives. I never imagined that my teenage crush on academia would blossom into a highly successful career in further education that has spanned over twenty years. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of influential people from grass roots to senior management level including external regulators such as Ofsted to support and promote improvements in education. In my role as Centre Director for Lifelong Learning, I gained invaluable teaching and leadership experience with accountability for curriculum, quality and learner experience in both mainstream and specialist provision including cross-college English and Maths, ESOL, Foundation Learning Provision (SEND and NEETs), Teacher Education, Community Learning, Access to Higher Education, A Levels and sub-contracted provision.

I became an Executive Coach in March 2021. I took this qualification after experiencing the positive impact of my coaching experience in a management development programme at Hopwood Hall College through FE Associates. This experience was the catalyst in changing the trajectory of my life and I wanted to support others and have since successfully worked with a range of coachees in different fields.

I am very blessed to have been able to pursue my two passions in life: education and food which have culminated in my current venture: The Foodie Kitchen. I was often asked to teach colleagues how to cook an authentic curry whilst at Hopwood and did a few staff development sessions that everyone really enjoyed which planted the seed that it would be my ideal job in the future…. And here I am!

My evolution through many years of hard work and determination in these pursuits has made me motivated, resilient, influential, adaptable, reflective and most importantly happy. I will always be an ambassador for lifelong learning and am proud to be a positive role model for my children, learners and the wider community. The Foodie Kitchen is a happy, thriving and inclusive enviroment for the whole community - I look forward to seeing you there!
